Line 5 (Huanzhong) of the Shenzhen Metro runs from Qianhaiwan to Huangbeiling forming an arc around central Shenzhen. It opened on 22 June 2011. Average daily ridership exceeds 500,000 people.[1] On 5 May 2014, 653,100 passengers used the line, setting a new record.[2]
