Lily-Rose Melody Depp (born May 27, 1999) is a French-American actress and model. She is the daughter of American actor Johnny Depp and French singer Vanessa Paradis. Depp is featured on her mother's album Bliss.

Early life

Lily-Rose Melody Depp was born to Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis in Paris, France, on May 27, 1999.[1] Paradis is from Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, France, the daughter of interior designers André and Corinne Paradis. After Depp and Paradis split in 2012 after 14 years together, they set up shared joint custody of Lily-Rose, who splits her time between Los Angeles and Paris.[2]

Depp is the older sister of John "Jack" Christopher Depp III.[3] She is the stepdaughter of American actress Amber Heard, whom Johnny married in February 2015, and the niece of French actress Alysson Paradis.[4][5] Depp is fluent in French.[6]

Career

Modeling

In April 2015, Depp posed for a photo-shoot in the Australian magazine Oyster by Dana Boulos and Maggie Silverman.[7] The shoot was reported by E! News.[8]

In July 2015, Depp debuted as a model for Chanel. She appears with Irish rapper Rejjie Snow in his video for "All Around the World".[9]

In August 2015, she decided to take part in the Self Evident Project, a "photographic record of 10k people in the US who are ANYWHERE on the LGBTQI spectrum," because "she falls somewhere on the vast spectrum."[10]

Acting

Depp began her acting career with a cameo role in Tusk written specifically for her by Kevin Smith, the father of her friend Harley Quinn Smith. Smith later wrote a spin-off of Tusk focused on Depp and Quinn Smith's characters entitled Yoga Hosers. In June 2015, Smith revealed that Lily-Rose Depp will reprise her role from Yoga Hosers in Moose Jaws.[11]

In 2015, Depp began filming on Planetarium directed by Rebecca Zlotowski about two spiritualist sisters in the 30s.[12] That same year, Depp was cast as Isadora Duncan in Stephanie Di Giusto's directorial debut The Dancer.[13]

Personal life

Since birth Depp has been the subject of tabloid and media reporting, including birthdays,[14][15] attendance at society events,[16] and reviews of her fashion choices.[17]

In August 2015, Depp posed for iO Tillett Wright's Self-Evident Truths Project, stating she falls somewhere on the LGBTQ spectrum.[18][19]
