Levi Sherwood

Levi Sherwood (born 22 October 1991 in New Zealand) is a freestyle motocross rider from New Zealand, nicknamed "rubber kid".[1]

Life and career

Sherwood attended Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School.

Levi Sherwood's father Dave Sherwood was a professional speedway rider and Levi has ridden all his life on two wheels. Levi also rode normal motorcross throughout his teens, but did more jumping and ended up in FMX competitions.[2]

He won his first Red Bull X-Fighters contest in Mexico City in 2009, only 17 years of age. He currently competes in the same tour. He took his second win in the year 2010 in Moscow, his third in London.[3] He became the champion of the 2012 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. His latest win in the tour was in Osaka, Japan in 2014, right after his win in Mexico City, which was the first tour stop of the year.[4][5]

Levi has also participated in the X Games, and in 2010 he won the silver medal in Freestyle, losing by just one point to Travis Pastrana.[6]
