The landlocked Southern African nation of Lesotho with five athletes sent, competed at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, United Kingdom from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's tenth appearance at the Olympics, except the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal because of the African boycott.
Four athletes were selected to the team, competing only in athletics and swimming. Marathon runner Mamorallo Tjoka, who competed at her second Olympics as the oldest member of the team, was the nation's flag bearer at the opening ceremony. Lesotho, however, has yet to win its first ever Olympic medal.

Judges
In addition, Lesotho is sending Moshoeshoe Mokake as a taekwondo judge. He is quoted as saying:
"We are a nation proud about sport. Our country is small and, because it's landlocked by South Africa, people don't know about it. It's through sport that people can learn about Lesotho. We have a lovely country that we want the whole world to know about." [6]
