Leonard 'The Lion' Bundu (21 November 1974) born in Freetown is a Sierra Leonean/Italian amateur Light welter/Welter/Light middleweight boxer of the 1990s and 2000s, and professional Welterweight boxer of the 2000s and '10s, who as an amateur won a Bronze medal representing Italy at Light welterweight at Boxing at the 1997 Mediterranean Games, won a Bronze medal representing Italy at Welterweight in the 1999 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Houston, losing to eventual Gold medalist Juan Hernández Sierra, represented Italy at Welterweight in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, losing to Daniyar Munaytbasov of Kazakhstan, won a Bronze medal representing Sierra Leone in the 2nd AIBA African 2004 Olympic Qualifying Tournament, and as a professional has won the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Mediterranean welterweight title, Italy welterweight title, European Boxing Union (EBU)-EU (European Union) welterweight title, World Boxing Association (WBA) Inter-Continental welterweight title, EBU (European) welterweight title, and Commonwealth welterweight title.[1]
