Leo Edmund Scherman (born April 2, 1975) is an award winning Canadian director, writer, producer and actor. Scherman graduated in 1997 from McGill University with a degree in Cultural Studies.

Career

Leo Scherman is a versatile filmmaker who has written and directed feature films, television series and commercials. Scherman trained under Paul Schrader and David Cronenberg and at age 28 wrote and directed his first feature film, the thriller White Knuckles. He wrote the feature Living Death starring Kristy Swanson and directed Lou Diamond Phillips in the suspense thriller Never Forget.

Scherman has experience with a cross section of genres including multi-cam and live events. Creator and producer of the Canadian Screen Award winning television series Cock'd Gunns, Scherman directed two seasons of Scare Tactics, has written and directed for NBC, SyFy, Vice, History, Discovery and National Geographic, and directed commercials for clients such as Expedia, Gatorade and McDonald’s.
