The Lefkotheo arena was the first major indoor sports hall to be constructed in Cyprus. Its construction was finished in 1980, and it is located next to the Makario Stadium with which it shares a common car park. It caters for basketball, volleyball and handball matches but can also be converted to host badminton, gymnastics [2] and boxing matches.[3]
It has a crowd capacity of 2,100 seated spectators. The arena played host to many events during the 1989 Games of the Small States of Europe.
Now the arena is used only by the basketball and volleyball departments of APOEL.
