Lee Minhyuk, (Hangul: 이민혁; born in November 29, 1990) or simply known as Minhyuk, is a South Korean idol, actor, singer, rapper, dancer and member of the South Korean boy group BtoB. He received multiple supporting roles in television series such as A New Leaf and Sweet, Savage Family.

Biography

Lee Minhyuk was born on November 29, 1990 in Seoul, South Korea. He graduated in Kwangsung High School and attended Dankook University, majored in "Musical". He's been active as an underground music artist by the name "Heota" and was featured in Block B's Zico and Park Kyung's songs. He was also a former trainee of JYP Entertainment before entering Cube Entertainment.

Career

Pre-debut

Lee Minhyuk together with fellow members of BtoB, Seo Eunkwang, Lim Hyunsik, Jung Ilhoon, and former BtoB member Lee Minwoo (now ex C-Clown member T.K).[2] acted in a JTBC sit-com as Invincible Chungdam No. 5 member before officially debuting as BtoB.

Debut with BtoB

On March 21, 2012, Minhyuk made his debut as a member of boy-group BTOB with their debut track "Insane".[3][4] The group is actively promoting and they already released 1 studio album and 7 EPs.

Solo Activities

In 2012, Minhyuk was casted in a variety show, tvN's "The Romantic & Idol 2". He also had multiple appearances since 2013 on Let's Go! Dream Team Season 2.

In 2014, he received a supporting role in the drama, A New Leaf and another role in the Idol Special of Love & War 2.

In 2015, he joined the casts of Sweet, Savage Family as Yoon Sung-min.[5] It was also revealed that he would play the lead role in a web-drama "Nightmare Teacher" alongside actress Kim So-hyun, his role is identified to be Seo Sang-woo.[6]

Minhyuk returned under the name "Heota" as he featured as a rapper in Postmen's "I'm OK" that was released in July 14, 2015.[7]

Minhyuk is also known as one of the best idol-athletes in the industry as his impressive skills when it comes to sports are acknowledged on Idol Star Athletics Championships in which idols compete in different fields of sport. He was crowned as the MVP of the 2014 Idol Star Athletics Championships in which their group, team B won and Minhyuk was awarded with 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal.[8][9][10]
