Lázaro Álvarez Estrada (born 28 January 1991) is a Cuban amateur boxer. Álvarez won the gold medal at Bantamweight division at the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Baku. He is a southpaw.

Career

In the final of 2011 World Championships, he beat Luke Campbell from England after 3 rounds with 1410 final score.[1][2]

Later that year he also won the 2011 Pan American title (results) vs Mexican Oscar Valdez.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics (results) he beat American Joseph Diaz and Robenílson Vieira but lost to Irish John Joe Nevin 14-19 and won Bronze.
