Latur Board
The Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (Marathi: महाराष्ट्र राज्य माध्यमिक व उच्च माध्यमिक शिक्षण मंडळ)is a statutory and autonomous body established under the Maharashtra Secondary Boards Act 1965 (amended in 1977). The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education, Latur came into existence in 1997 to regulate certain matters pertaining to secondary education in the state of Maharashtra, India. The act was amended in 1977 and the name of the Board changed to its present name - The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. The most prominent task of the board is to conduct the SSC and HSC examinations in Latur, Osmanabad and Nanded districts. The exams are conducted in March and results declared in June. In March 2009, 93096 students gave the SSC examination and students from 1143 schools/colleges gave the HSC examination.
