Lancaster Central School District

The Lancaster Central School District is a New York school district including the area surrounding Lancaster, New York. The district consists of 7 schools and for the 2015-2016 school year has a total enrollment of 5,278 students . The current Superintendent is Dr. Michael Vallely. The school district had received national media attention due to controversy over the school's former mascot, the Lancaster Redskins. In June 2015, the mascot was changed to the Lancaster Legends.^[1]

Lancaster High School

Lancaster High School is located 1 Forton Drive and serves Grades 9-12. The current principal is Mr. Cesar Marchioli, and the current assistant principals are Mrs. Terry Adamec, Mrs. Monica Daigler, and Mr. Jamie Pernick.

History

Lancaster High School was established in 1894. It moved to the Aurora Street School (currently Lancaster Middle School) in 1922. It moved to the current building in the 1960s.

Lancaster Middle School

Lancaster Middle School is located at 148 Aurora Street in Lancaster and serves Grades 7 and 8. The current principal is Mr. Peter Kruszynski and the current assistant principal is Mr. John Bender.

History

The middle school building was constructed in 1922 to serve as home as Lancaster High School. After Grades 9-12 moved to Forton Drive, Grades 7 and 8 were housed in the building, now known as Aurora Middle School. Grade 6 was added in 1989. The building changed its name from Aurora Middle School to Lancaster Middle School in 2003 to avoid confusion with East Aurora Middle School.^[2]

William Street School

William Street School is located at 5201 William Street in Lancaster and serves Grades 4 through 6. The current principal is Mrs. Jacqueline Bull and the current assistant principals are Ms. Janelle Finn and Mr. Gregory Feer.

History

William Street School was constructed and opened in 1998.

Como Park Elementary School

Como Park Elementary School is located at 1985 Como Park Boulevard in Lancaster and serves Grades K through 3. The current principal is Mrs. Mary Marcinelli.

Court Street Elementary School

Court Street Elementary School is located at 91 Court Street in Lancaster and serves Grades K through 3. The current principal is Mrs. Jacqueline Clinard.

Hillview Elementary School

Hillview Elementary School is located at 11 Pleasantview Drive in Lancaster and serves Grades K through 3. The current principal is Mrs. Amy Moeller.

John A. Sciole Elementary School

John A. Sciole Elementary School (formerly Alys Drive Elementary School is located at 86 Alys Drive in Depew and serves Grades K through 3. The current principal is Mrs. Carrie Greene.
