The song was first released on January 1, 2009 on MySpace and on April 17, 2009 on YouTube on his channel ForTheBurbs. It was later included as the first track on his mixtape The White Noise LP, released on April 30, 2009. La La La is one of Chris Webby's first songs recorded in 2008 and is based on Beat Ink's "Around the World" (2008), which samples ATC's Around The World (La La La La La). In Chris Webby's La La La, the lyrics makes references of Webby's interest of having weed, as he calls it the 'weed song'. There are other remixes and versions of this song since it was released, such as the ones on YouTube.

Background

The song that both Chris Webby's La La La and Beat Ink's "Around the World" sample, ATC's Around The World, produced by Alex Christensen, was released on May 9, 2000, and performed well in the European and global charts. The Eurodance and Eurotrance sample is a cover of Ruki Vverh's Pesenka (1998). It would later be used for various covers and other versions. On December 31, 2007, after listening to ATC's Around The World, unknown local preducer Beat Ink went took that sample in his song concept called "Around the World" and finalized it the next day before giving it to other artists and producers. The first version based on Beat Ink's Around the World was released on MySpace on May 14, 2008 and on YouTube on June 17, 2008. It was later recorded by other atrists from amny parts of the world. All versions of the Beat Ink concept are found on YouTube and MySpace. In June 2008, after release of Beat Ink's Around the World, Chris Webby, a rapper from Norwalk, Connecticut, went on to record his version called "La La La", named after the vocables heard in both ATC's Around the World and Ruki Vverh's Pesenka and recorded by his local producer Evo. The new song was first previewed on one of his earliest videos on YouTube on October 28, 2008.[1] It was later released as a full song on January 1, 2009 on MySpace and on April 17, 2009, on his YouTube channel ForTheBurbs. It was one of Chris Webby's first songs that marked the start of all his music.

Composition

La La La is a hip hop song and it is based on Beat Ink's Around the World (2008). Like the song concept, the song has a length of 3 minutes and 48 seconds. According to the back cover of The White Noise LP, the song was recorded by his local producer named Evo. It uses urban, 2000s style drumbeats. The song heavily samples ATC's Around The World. The sample is used into intro, chorus, starting melody and outro elements. Also, its speed goes at 0.7274x from the tempo of ATC's Around The World, allowing Webby to use a moderate rapping speed. Webby lends his rap vocals, performing 3 verses and 3 singing choruses in his version of Beat Ink's Around the World. The low-pitched vocals of ATC are heard in intro, outro and 3 choruses of the sample as in its original version.
