LGBT rights in the Pitcairn Islands

Same-sex marriage was legalized in the Pitcairn Islands on May 15, 2015, after being unanimously approved by the island's council. The change had been suggested by the government of Britain, the protectorate's sovereign state, after England, Scotland, and Wales passed legalization in 2014.[1]

LGBT individuals may legally serve in the military, as enforced by British law, because the island's military force is government by the United Kingdom, and LGBT discrimination is prohibited in the territory according to its constitution. All homosexual activity is legal as well, in line with British law.[2]
