Léa Caurla

Léa Caurla, born September 4 1926, was a French athlete in the 100m and 200m events. She was notably 3rd in the Oslo European Championship in 1946 for the 200m.

She is especially known because she was a man. She eventually chose to be called Léon Caurla, got married and became a father.

Léa's main opponent, Claire Brésolles, with whom she won several tournaments, proved also to be a man. Claire is now Peter.

Together they ran a French 4 × 100 m relay record (with Anne-Marie Colchen and Monique Drilhon).
