Kuwaiti literature

Because of Kuwait’s somewhat tenuous history, there is not much in the way of classical literature originating there. Kuwait has, in recent years, produced several prominent contemporary writers.[1] There is also evidence that Kuwaiti culture has long been interactive with English and French literature.[2] Some of the translators include Yaqoub Al-Hamad, Fathil Khalaf, poet Suleiman Al-Khulaifi, and Mahmoud Tawfeeq Ahmad who translated a number of short French plays by Molière.[3]
