Kurdish Shahnameh
Kurdish Shahnameh is a collection of epic poems that has been passed from mouth to mouth, as part of Kurdish oral tradition.[1][2] The Kurdish poet Sarhang Almas Khan collected and wrote most of Kurdish Shahnameh in eighteenth century. However, elder manuscripts of Kurdish Shahnameh are available.[3] There are several differences between Kurdish Shahnameh and Ferdowsi's Shahnameh. First, the poems of Kurdish Shahnameh are written in Kurdish rather than Persian. Second, there are several characters in Kurdish Shahnameh that are not mentioned Ferdowsi's Shahnameh. Shahram Nazeri has sung several verses of Kurdish Shahnameh in Avaze Asatir.
