Kulhudhuffushi (Dhivehi: ކުޅުދުއްފުށި) is the capital of Haa Dhaalu Atoll administrative division and geographically part of Thiladhummathi Atoll in the north of the Maldives. Kulhudhuffushi is known as the Heart of North.
The island is one of the biggest and most populous island in the Northern part of the Maldives. People from the island is popular for shark fishing and working in cargo vessels. The island was affected by heavy rain and storms causing substantial damages in the years 1812,1819 and 1921. The island was also affected during the Keylakunu storm.

Kulhudhuffushi have an A category hospital known as Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital which serves 24/7. People of the nearby islands get the services frequently.
Economy and Development
Kulhudhuffushi is the economic capital in the north. Mostly people around the island gets the services. Saturday Market is a great example. In development various state institutes were build and are providing services.
Sports
In sport sector the island have achieved a lot. Azneem Ahmed who qualified for 100m sprint in 2012 London Olympics. Island is even regarded as the Bascket Ball Champion moreover island is famous for holding athletics meets and creating great Athletes and coaches. Hussain Riza is a great example. Adam Ismail a yesteryear footballer and martial artist who served and is serving now. Football is the widely played sport and island holds the maximum number of quality football grounds around the nation. Even Presidents Cup was held in Kulhudhuffushi this year (2015)'s September.
