Krasnooktyabrsky District (Russian: Краснооктя́брьский райо́н; Tatar: Cyrillic Кызыл Октябрь районы, Latin Qızıl Oktəber rayonı) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the forty-three in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 886.2 square kilometers (342.2 sq mi).[1] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Urazovka.[1] Population: 11,729 (2010 Census);[3] 13,496(2002 Census);[6] 16,662(1989 Census).[7] The population of Urazovka accounts for 13.9% of the district's total population.[3]

The district was established in 1929 and given its present name in 1930.[1]
