Kozhikode North is a city suburb in the Kozhikode district in Kerala, India. It includes the following areas:
- West Hill
- Nadakkavu
- Kappad Beach
- Pavangad
- Elathur
- Vengalam
- Vellayil
- Eranhippalam
- Purakkattiri
- Puthiyangadi
West Hill
West Hill area has the government guest house, a government engineering college and the polytechnic. There is a helipad in West Hill and the road to the beach is called Bhatt Road. The road to the north takes you to Puthiyangadi, Pavangad, Elathur and Koyilandy.
Elathur
Elathur is a Municipality town in Kozhikode in the Indian state of Kerala. It is located about 12 km north of Calicut city on the Calicut-Kannur National Highway 17 and is bounded by the Arabian Sea at the west and Korapuzha River (Elathur River) at the north.[1] The Elathur River is generally considered to be the boundary between the North Malabar and South Malabar in the erstwhile district of Malabar.
Nadakkavu
Nadakkavu is a commercial and residential suburb of Kozhikode city. It is about five kilometers from the city center. Areas like Chakkorath Kulam, Vandipettah, Bilathikkulam and Kanakalaya are part of Nadakkavu. The suburb of Nadakkavu is further connected to West Hill area with the government guest house and the polytechnic situated inside the locality. There is a helipad in West Hill and the road to the beach is alled Bhatt Road. The road to the north takes you to Puthiyangadi, Pavangad, Elathur and Koyilandy. Nadakkavu is a commercial and residential suburbof Kozhikode city. It is about five kilometres from the city centre. Kunduparamba
Kunduparamba is a suburb of Kozhikode city. The broadcasting centre of All India Radio is situated here. Kunduparamba is accessible via the National Highway 17 by taking a right turn from Puthiyangadi junction. The villages of Edakkad, Nellippalam and Vaidyar Angadi come near Kunduparamba. The road to the north from Kunduparamba goes to Pavangad and the road south takes you back to the city on a short cut.
Purakkattiri
Purakkattiri is an important road junction near Thalakkulathoor. Shri Palora Shiva temple is a popular religious destination of Purakkattiri. It is about two km west of Purakkittiri town. The road to the river takes you to the temple after crossing the newly built Highway. There is a small underpass for crossing the highway. The temple is built inside a calm residential zone and has a sylvan surrroundings. It is east facing and is a little elevated from the road.
Vengalam Junction
[2] Vengalam township has risen to importance because of the completion of the new road from Idimuzhikkal at Ramanattukara to Vengalam with a 30 meter width. The proposed inauguration of the road on the 21st January, 2016 will boost the development of the area.
