Klara "The Swedish Princess" Svensson (born 15 October 1987), is a professional boxer fighting out of Malmö, Sweden.[1] She is a European Amateur Boxing Championship and World Amateur Boxing Championship medalist, as well as a five time Swedish national amateur boxing champion.[3] In September 2014, she became the interim super-lightweight WBC champion.[4]

Early life and career

Svensson was born and raised in Höllviken, south of Malmö.[5] She was regarded as one of the best and most promising young Swedish boxers thanks to her successful amateur career,[6][7] and has won a medal in every World Amateur Boxing Championship she's participated in.[7] Svensson started boxing professionally in 2011.[1] In 2014 she defeated Marie Riederer in a fight for the WBC interim champion belt.[8] This subsequently earned Svensson a title shot against Argentinian boxer Erica Anabella Farias for the WBC-belt in welterweight.[3] Svensson lost the bout, which took place in May 2015, by unanimous decision.[9] She's signed to Team Sauerland and trains in Copenhagen under Joey Gamache.[5]
