Appearance

The Kirin looks like somewhat like a deer in general shape and size. It however has scales for skin, a long golden mane and is surrounded by a great aura of heavenly fire. The Kirin is often depicted as golden, white or multi-coloured like a rainbow. Some accounts especially those of the Chinese version the Qilin has it resembling a giraffe or horse with the head of a dragon. Others even have its appearance similar to that of a unicorn.

Qilin or Kirin, a mythical creature known in various East Asian cultures. They are seen to be god like creatures. There are a great symbol of wisdom and benevolence. The Kirin does not harm any being it may come across in anyway. It will not even walk about a blade of grass in fear that it be trampled. The Kirin is a very scarce sight as it is said to only appear in times of world peace, where the land is lead by noble leadership or in the golden age.

A being similar to the Kirin was mentioned in the epic poem "The Ramayana". This being was a golden deer sent to trick Rama the avatar of Vishnu. The beings name was Maricha. He was a former king who had reincar. This goes in tandem with the lore of the the Kirin as this was in the of noble leadership.
