Kim Jinhwan (South Korean singer)
Kim Jinhwan (Hangul: 김진환; born February 7, 1994 ) is a South Korean singer and member of the YG Entertainment group iKON, formerly known as Team B best known from the 2013 Mnet reality survival program show "Who Is Next: WIN."
Kim Jinhwan also appeared in the 2014 Mnet reality survival program show "MIX & MATCH" with fellow iKON members B.I, Bobby, Koo Junhoe, Kim Donghyuk, Song Yunhyeong and Jung Chanwoo before his official debut.
Career
Early Life and Trainee Years
Kim Jinhwan joined YG Entertainment as a trainee in January 2011, where he and fellow trainees (future iKON members) B.I and Bobby became the foundation of the future six member Team B. Team B was first introduced to the public through 2013 Mnet's reality survival program show "Who Is Next: WIN." In this show, two teams known as Team A and Team B competed for the chance to debut as YG Entertainment's next boy group. Both teams completed in three official rounds, each consisting of song arrangement, dance and original song composition.[1] The winning team was determined through public vote while the losing team was to either be disbanded or rearranged. Ultimately, Team B lost with Team A debuting under the name Winner.[2]
In 2014, YG Entertainment announced that the Team B members would be returning to compete in a second reality survival show "MIX & MATCH" with the aim to determine the official seven members of YG Entertainment's new boy group iKON.[3] Kim Jinhwan, along with B.I and Bobby were confirmed for three of the seven positions available as official iKON members, while the remaining three members of Team B competed against three new trainees, Jung Chanwoo, Yang Hongseok and Jung Jinhyeong, for the remaining four places on the team.[4] Notably through the program "MIX & MATCH," Kim Jinhwan along with fixed members B.I and Bobby, led the remaining members through each battle round.
2015: Official debut
As of 1 October 2015, Kim Jinhwan officially debuted as an iKON member and is currently active as a fixed member of JTBC's new variety show "Mari and I" along with leader B.I.[5]
