The Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 is a municipal district in eastern Alberta, Canada. Located in Census Division No. 7., its municipal office is located in the Town of Wainwright. The municipal district is bisected north-south by the Buffalo Trail and east-west by the Poundmaker Trail.
Demographics
In the 2011 Census, the Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 had a population of 4,138 living in 1,229 of its 1,419 total dwellings, a 16.3% change from its 2006 population of 3,558. With a land area of 4,153.72 km2 (1,603.76 sq mi), it had a population density of 1.0/km2 (2.6/sq mi) in 2011.[2]

In 2006, the Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 had a population of 3,558 living in 1,452 dwellings, a 15.9% decrease from 2001. The municipal district has a land area of 4,154.74 km2 (1,604.15 sq mi) and a population density of 0.9/km2 (2.3/sq mi).[4]
In 2001, the municipal district had a population of 4,231 in 1,364 dwellings, a 4.6% increase from 1996. On a surface of 4,154.60 km² it had a density of 1 inhabitant/km².[5]
