Kiko Garcia

Alfonso Rafael "Kiko" Garcia (October 14, 1953 in Martinez, California) is a former Major League Baseball infielder. He played ten seasons in the major leagues from 1976 until 1985. Garcia, who is of Mexican American descent,^[1] played for the Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros, and Philadelphia Phillies.

Garcia was primarily a shortstop, playing 459 of his 619 career games there, but he also spent time as a second baseman (120 games) and third baseman (51 games). He was the starting shortstop for the American League champion Orioles in 1979.

In the late 1980s he operated a batting cage business in Pleasanton, California, on the grounds of the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Garcia is the president and a coach with the KG Hitters girls fastpitch organization in Northern California.^[2]
