Kihniö is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the region of Pirkanmaa, Western Finland. The municipality has a population of 2,069 (30 June 2015)[2] and covers an area of 390.50 square kilometres (150.77 sq mi) of which 33.39 km2 (12.89 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 5.79 inhabitants per square kilometre (15.0/sq mi).

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
