Khariar Road is a town and a notified area committee in Nuapada district in the Indian state of Odisha. Khariar Road is connected to Mahasamund - Raipur through National Highway 217 as well as the Indian Railway.
Demographics
According to the 2011 Census of India[1] Khariar Road had a population of 16,629. Males constituted 51% of the population and females 49%. Khariar Road had an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; male literacy was 70% and female literacy 51%. In Khariar Road, 14% of the population was under 6 years of age.
The city has a combination of different religion and languages. Hindi and Oriya are the common languages but in some parts Chhatisgadi dialect prevails.

Places of interest
Patora
Patora is a small village, 25 km from Khariar Road and one of the major tourism attraction of this region. Tourists come here from many parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Yogeswar temple, Patora Dam and Rajeev udyan are main attraction here.
Yogeswar temple
Yogeswar temple at Patora is famous for its ancient Shiva Linga.
Patora Dam
Patora Dam (Upper Jonk Irrigation Project) is built on Jonk river, in Odisha.
Rajeev udyan
A garden with flowerbeds, fountains and a view of the dam and the gates is situated next to the dam wall in Patora.
Godhas waterfall
Godhas is 42 km from Khariar Road. Waterfall here is very energetic in rainy and winter season. The place is surrounded by forest and is suitable for night camping.
Nrusinghanath Temple
In Bargarh district of Odisha, near Paikmal, a natural waterfall with an ancient temple and an annual fair. About 50 km from Khariar Road.
Jonk River
Khariar Road is situated very near to the banks of river Jonk, which separates Khariar Road from the state of Chhattisgarh
Aerodrome
A small airstrip for small aeroplanes and helicopters is located near the Gotma village.
