Khalid Irfan (Urdu: خالد عرفان ) is an acclaimed American-Pakistani origin comic poet.[1][2] He has written several books of poetry. He selects the words and metres that are familiar to common people. He writes the humor poetry in his own style, away from any duplicity. Irfan's favourite poets are Ahmad Faraz and Mir Anees.[3][4]

Early life and career

Irfan was born in Karachi, Pakistan. His father Irshad Ali migrated to Pakistan from Badayun, India in 1947. He received a Master degree in Urdu literature. He has two sons.[3] He has published five poetry collections. In several poems he expressed the social and political issues of his native country Pakistan and his adopted country the United States. He is in charge of the literary section of Urdu Times Weekly.[3]
