A controlling share of the company was purchased in 2004 by Canadian publisher H.B. Fenn when Porter sold her stake in the company.

In September 2010, Key Porter laid off 11 of 17 staff and relocated their head office.[1] On January 7, 2011, H.B Fenn announced the suspension of operations of Key Porter and laid off the remaining staff.[2] All book releases will continue as scheduled via H.B. Fenn.[3]
