Kevin David Masters (born 19 May 1961) is an English cricketer. Masters is a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium-fast. He was born at Chatham, Kent.
Masters made his first-class debut for Kent against Hampshire in 1983. From 1983 to 1984, he represented the county in four first-class matches, the last of which came against Somerset.[1] In his 4 first-class matches, he took 6 wickets at a bowling average of 49.00, with best figures of 2/26.[2]
Masters made his debut in List A cricket for Kent against Worcestershire in 1984.[3] This was the only one-day match he played for the county.
Eleven years later, he made his Minor Counties Championship debut for Cambridgeshire against Norfolk. He played 2 further Championship matches during that season against Buckinghamshire and Lincolnshire.[4] Masters also made his debut in the MCCA Knockout Trophy during the 1995 season against Wiltshire. From 1995 to 1996, he played 6 Trophy matches for the county, the last of which came against Buckinghamshire.[5] Masters played a single List A match for Cambridgeshire in the 1996 NatWest Trophy against Kent.[6]
He later represented the Kent Cricket Board in List A cricket. His debut List A match for the Board came against Denmark in the 1999 NatWest Trophy. From 1999 to 2002, he represented the Board in 12 List A matches, the last of which came against the Leicestershire Cricket Board in the 2nd round of the 2003 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy which was held in 2002.[7] In his combined career total of 14 List A matches, he took 8 wickets at a bowling average of 45.00, with best figures of 2/52.
He currently plays club cricket for Lordswood Cricket Club in the Kent Cricket League.
Family
His son, David, currently represents Essex in first-class cricket. He has also played first-class cricket for Kent and Leicestershire.
