Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Bhubaneswar (Hindi: केन्द्रीय विद्यालय नं 1,भुवनेश्वर, Odia: କେନ୍ଦ୍ରୀୟ ବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ -୧,ଭୁବନେଶ୍ବର) was started in 1967 as a small school at unit -1 Boys high school. After a year a new campus was constructed at unit-IX. Now the school is a two shift school from 2004. It has got NABET accreditation in 2012–2016 and British Council International School Award in 2013.
Facilities and activities
It has physics, chemistry, biology, biotech, mathematics, geography and language labs for interest of students. It has one gymnastic facility, spacious playgrounds and e-classroom facilities. It prepares the students of Class X and XII for CBSE examinations AISSE and AISSCE. The school also has a Primary Resource Room, Computer Rooms with TV, LCD and OHP facilities, gardens and a library. Activities include: Inter-school and Inter-state games Scouts and Guides Co-curricular activities Inter-school cultural talent competition like science exhibition, SST exhibition etc. It has nearly 4300 students (both shifts) studying and 130 and more staffs(both shifts) are working in this school.The school has four houses.
