Kattalai (1993) is a Tamil film starring Sathyaraj and Bhanupriya. The film's score and soundtrack were composed by Illayaraja. The film was one of the front runners in 1993 and was directed by Liaquat Ali Khan. It was released after Sathyaraj's blockbuster, Walter Vetrivel.[1]

Plot

Sathyaraj is the son of R Sunderrajan and Sumitra. His dad has no job and spends his time reading newspapers. Sathyaraj is the sole bread-winner of his family. He would try to bring down all the atrocities happening in the society. He falls in love with a dusky beauty, Bhanupriya.The rest forms the story.

Reception

Due to its release after Sathyaraj's blockbuster hit, Walter Vetrivel, this film generated high expectations among Sathyaraj fans and Tamil movie buffs. However, the movie fell short of these expectations and settled as an average grosser.
