Katria katria is a vulnerable species of cichlid fish from the Mangoro and Nosivolo Rivers in east-central Madagascar.[1] It is the only species in the genus Katria, but was formerly included in Ptychochromoides.[2] The only other single-species cichlid genus in Madagascar is Oxylapia, and it is restricted to the same region as Katria.[3] In 2010, the Nosivolo River was designated as a Ramsar Site.[4] The Katria reaches about 13 centimetres (5.1 in) in length.[5]
