Kate Leth
Kate Leth is a Canadian comic book creator, known for works such as Adventure Time: Seeing Red, Bravest Warriors and Edward Scissorhands.
Career
Kate Leth has been a self-taught comic creator since 2010.[1] She began writing comics on her personal blog, "Kate or Die", which is now a bi-weekly column on Comics Alliance.[2] Leth was mostly known for her webcomics, but began doing backups for Adventure Time, Locke & Key, and Luther Strode, which jumpstarted her print comics career.
She is the writer of the New York Times Bestseller Adventure Time: Seeing Red and is currently the series writer for Bravest Warriors and Edward Scissorhands. Leth is a collaborator on the podcast Less than Live with Kate or Die, and is the organizer of The Valkyries: a group of women who work in comics retail.[1]
She has most recently been a model for the newest We Love Fine Spider-Gwen fashion line.[3] Her newest comic, Power Up, is set to release July 22, 2015 and is an all-ages comic from Boom! Studios.[4] On October 5, 2015 she was announced as the new writer for a relaunched Vampirella from Dynamite Entertainment.[5]
Since June 2014, Leth has been a co-host for Less Than Live with Kate or Die, a bi-weekly comics podcast. Some of her guests include Babs Tarr, Marguerite Bennet, Kris Anka, Kevin Wada, and Jake Wyatt. Leth has collaborated with the podcast Welcome To Nightvale and the all-ages comic Lumberjanes.
Personal life
Leth lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia.[1]
