Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band is an eight piece, blue eyed soul band based in Burlington, Vermont, formed in 2010.[1] They have regularly toured the Eastern United States, including appearances at the Syracuse Jazz Festival and the Brooklyn Bowl.

Biography

Since 2010 the group have performed a residency on Thursdays at the Radio Bean on N Winooski Street in Burlington.

As well as their home state, the group tour around New England, including New York City[2] Boston,[3] Connecticut[4] and Maine.[5]

They have supported The Original Wailers, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, and Leon Russell.[6]

The group have made two appearances at the Syracuse Jazz Festival, and in 2014 supported The Preservation Hall Jazz Band and The Doobie Brothers.[1][7] The group have also performed at Grand Point North, and the Brooklyn Bowl.[8] The group recorded a live album at Signal Kitchen, Burlington in April 2014.[9] In September, the group gave their first Midwest tour.[1]

The band's debut EP, Introducing... was released in 2013. As well as soul, it showed jam band and hip-hop influences.[10] The EP was chosen as one of the top 10 best Vermont Made Recordings by Seven Days Newspaper in 2013.[11] In 2014 the readers of the paper voted them Vermont's "Best funk/R&B artist or group" and "Best jazz/blues artist or group".[12]
