Karsdorf is a municipality in the Burgenlandkreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
Ancient skeletal remains from the Karsdorf area – of two males who lived during the Early Neolithic era (6,790–7,555 years BP) – have undergone genetic analysis. The individuals, known as KAR6 and KAR16a belonged to a paternal (Y-DNA) lineage known as Haplogroup T1a (T-M70); their mitochondrial (maternal) haplogroup were subclades of H1 (that is, H1*/H1au1b and H46b).[2][3]
