American rapper and music producer Kanye West has released eight studio albums, two live albums, three video albums, four mixtapes, one hundred and ten singles and ninety-three music videos. West has sold over 21 million albums and 66 million digital downloads worldwide, making him one of the best-selling digital artists of all time.[1] As of May 2012, six of his songs have each exceeded three million digital downloads.[2][3] Seven of his eight studio albums have been certified at least platinum in the United States.[4]
In 2003, West collaborated with rapper Twista and singer Jamie Foxx on the song "Slow Jamz", which became West's first single to top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.[5] West's debut album, The College Dropout, was released in February 2004. The album peaked at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and was certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[4][6] It spawned four singles, including the Hot 100 top ten single "All Falls Down" and the Grammy Award-winner "Jesus Walks". West then released his second studio album Late Registration in August 2005. It peaked at number one on the Billboard 200, with first week sales of 860,000 copies.[7] Late Registration produced five singles, including "Touch the Sky", "Heard 'Em Say" and "Gold Digger"; the latter single reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.[5] The critically acclaimed album has sold over three million copies and has attained five multi-platinum certifications, including a triple-platinum certification from the RIAA.[4][8]
Graduation, West's third studio album, peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 and shipped over 957,000 units in its first week, breaking the record set by his previous album.[6][9] Graduation held the number one spot on the Billboard 200 for over a month and also topped the UK Albums Chart.[10] It spawned five singles, including the Billboard Hot 100 number one single "Stronger" and the top ten single "Good Life".[5] West's fourth album 808s & Heartbreak was released in November 2008 and became his third consecutive number one release on the Billboard 200.[6] It featured two top three singles, "Love Lockdown" and "Heartless".[5] From 2008 to 2009, West collaborated with artists on multiple Hot 100 top ten singles, including "American Boy" by singer Estelle, "Swagga Like Us" by rappers Jay-Z and T.I., "Knock You Down" by singer Keri Hilson, "Run This Town" by Jay-Z and "Forever" by rapper Drake.[5] In November 2010, West released his fifth studio album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The album peaked at number one on the Billboard 200, continuing a streak of number one albums for West.[6] Four singles were released from the album, all of which reached the top 25 on the Billboard Hot 100: "Power", "Monster", "Runaway" and "All of the Lights".[5]
In 2011, West collaborated with American recording artist Katy Perry on a remix of her song "E.T." which hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100, marking West's fourth number one single on the chart.[5] Watch the Throne, a collaboration with Jay-Z, was released as West's sixth studio album in August 2011. Peaking at number one on the Billboard 200,[6] Watch the Throne produced seven singles, including the Billboard Hot 100 top 25 singles "H•A•M", "Otis" and "Niggas in Paris".[5] West's sixth studio album Yeezus was released in June 2013 and debuted at number one in the United States, with first-week sales of 327,000 copies.[11] The Life of Pablo followed three years later on February 14, 2016.
