Kanda is a small town in Uttarakhand, India.Generally, a group of villages is known as KANDA. Kanda Parhav with famous Kalika temple locally known as Kalishan in centre is a cluster of shops, forming a bazar is literally real Kanda. Kanda is Tehsil in Bageshwar district.[1] Kanda[2] is an historic place and is also famous for its temple. Kanda has been a famous centre of education having old Middle school (now G.I.C.), alumni of which include Professor D.D. Pant, noted physicist and Prof.T.S. Papola, noted development economist among others.
Location
Kanda is 25 km away from Bageshwar en route to Pithoragarh. It is known for its rich scenic beauty and rural tourism. But quarrying of soft stone (Kharia—talc) has damaged the local ecology dangerously.
