Kamen Rider OOO (character)

Kamen Rider OOO in his Tatoba Combo. Like his predecessor Double, OOO has mix-and-match powers but in three parts instead of two.

Kamen Rider OOO (仮面ライダーオーズ Kamen Raidā Ōzu) is the primary and eponymous protagonist of the 2010-2011 Kamen Rider Series Kamen Rider OOO. The name "OOO" is pronounced similarly to both "O's", referring to the three O's in the television series' title which represent the character's transformation items, and "multiple kings" (王s Ōzu). The three O's also represent the infinity symbol with an additional circle, stating that Kamen Rider OOO is Over (infinity).

Kamen Rider OOO makes his debut appearance in Kamen Rider W Forever: A to Z/The Gaia Memories of Fate where he faces off against and defeats the Luna Dopant. An alternate spelling of the character's name is "Kamen Rider Ooz", which comes from Hyper Hobby magazine's September 2010 issue.[1]

Eiji Hino

Eiji Hino (火野 映司 Hino Eiji, portrayed by Shu Watanabe) is the son of a politician who travels the world with his grandfather, thus growing up in a lavish environment. While in Africa a year prior to the beginning of the series, Eiji attempted to use his fortune to help out a small village. However, his money was used to fund a civil war that cost the life of a little girl Eiji befriended, whose death he was unable stop, forced to looked on helplessly. Though the Hino family used his sob story to get the people's support, the ordeal peculiarly caused Eiji to lose all selfish desires, resulting him being a vagabond with no permanent job, no home, almost penniless and no life. He became willing to help those in need, often going so far as to risk his life for complete strangers. Eiji's rationale for helping people is if someone reaches their hand out to him and he does not reach back, he will regret it for the rest of his life.

Returning to Japan to allegedly fund more of his world travels, Eiji's latest part-time job at the Kougami Art Museum ends due to the destruction of the museum around him while in a drugged slumber, taking a strange red coin he found as his supposed pay. This causes a disembodied arm to begin to follow him around, demanding the red coin from him which is actually a part of his being. However, when attacked by a Yummy, the arm reveals himself as Ankh of the ancient beings known as the Greeed, and the red coin is one of his Core Medals. When Eiji risks his life to rescue him, Ankh gives him two more Core Medals and the OOO Driver as means to transform into Kamen Rider OOO. After destroying the Yummy, Eiji learns more about the Greeed and Medals from Ankh, who originally intends for Eiji to be a tool for gathering Cell Medals for him. However, after the Greeed take the half dead body of Shingo Izumi for his own, Eiji manages to force Ankh into promising him that he can transform to save lives, not just to gather Cell Medals. Feeling guilty for getting Shingo involved, Eiji remains by Ankh's side as the two are joined by Shingo's little sister Hina Izumi.

Soon after facing the Greeed Kazari that Eiji is approached by the Kougami Foundation, and is offered a partnership with them in the fight against the Greeed. In the process, joined by Akira Date, Eiji learns more of the Greeed's desire to become whole and the reason why Ankh is unable to assume his complete form when Ankh(Lost) appears. However, things change when Eiji becomes a host to half of a set of purple Core Medals that react to his lack of selfish desires, the same presumed reason why he is able to use Kamen Rider OOO's powers without any sign of going berserk so far, with dangerous consequences. Though Eiji managed to keep the purple Core Medals under control and with time, even use their powers at will, they are later revealed to be slowly turning him into a Greeed, evident from the fact that he has lost his sense of taste by the time Ankh is absorbed by his other self and Shingo is now well enough to survive on his own. However, Eiji's condition worsens when the freed Ankh, with three of his Core Medals utterly destroyed with Ankh (Lost)'s destruction, forcefully possessed Shingo's body again and turned his back on Eiji. Soon after, Eiji learns from Kousei Kougami, the Foundation's owner, that the only way to counteract the purple Core Medals is to acquire a desire of his own, something he is yet capable of doing as he turns into the dinosaur-like Eiji Greeed (映司グリード Eiji Gurīdo) after absorbing two more purple Core Medals forcefully inserted by Maki to have him go on a rampage.

However, it is by then that Eiji remembers that his desire is to have power, although again it is so that he can help others. He later agrees to Kougami's suggestion to absorb all of the Cell Medals in the Kougami Foundation's possession to achieve that desire. However, it does not halt Eiji's Greedification, as he sees the purple Cores as part of his powers and refuse to hand them over to Kougami, continue using them even though they consumes him. During his final battle, he uses all the Cell Medals in his body in a risky attack that fails to destroy Maki. But before Eiji rampages as a Greeed, Ankh gives Eiji his last three Core Medals, disappearing and allowing Eiji to assume Tajadol Combo to defeat Maki, who's destruction creates a black hole destroying Eiji's purple medals and sucking the other Core Medals into it, except Ankh's broken Taka Core. As Eiji falls back to the earth, Ankh appears to him as his disembodied arm, thanking him and saying his farewells, before disappearing into half of the broken Taka Medal that once held his consciousness. Saved by Kamen Rider Birth, he realized that the power that he seeks are the people that he had bonded with, and that he does not have to save people alone. He received the other half of Ankh's Core Medal that Hina found and later leaves Japan and resumes his journey around the world, unaware that a spectral Ankh arm is following him.[2]

In Movie War Mega Max, it is revealed that Eiji is currently working together with Kougami Foundation on their attempt to create new Core Medals in hope of restoring Ankh's Core Medal. As a result, Eiji is helped by Ankh from the future and regains most of his Core Medals while obtaining the Super TaToBa Medals. In Super Hero Taisen, Eiji is revealed to have restored the purple Dinosaur Medals. Helping the Gokaigers, he gives them each a Core Medal from his set that become special Ranger Keys they use to transform the six main combos of Kamen Rider OOO.

Kamen Rider OOO

After Eiji inserts three Core Medals into the OOO Driver buckle, pushes the left side of the buckle downwards, scans them with the O Scanner, and then holds the O Scanner up to his chest, he transforms into Kamen Rider OOO. Like Kamen Rider Double before him, Kamen Rider OOO has multiple combinations of powers he can access to are referred to as Combos (コンボ Konbo). Each aspect of a Combo gives Kamen Rider OOO different powers and weaknesses. In a fight, if a particular section of Kamen Rider OOO receives a significant amount of damage, the power of that section will be disrupted. If it takes further damage, the power will cut off completely and the section's corresponding Medal will be forcefully ejected from the OOO Driver, canceling the transformation. In addition, single-colored Combos are incredibly taxing on Eiji's body, as they embody the full power of the corresponding Greeed. Eventually, Eiji notes that his body is "getting used to the power", though he must still be cautious with excessive Combo use. Except for Tatoba and Tamashiy Combos, the only combinations with "Combo" in their name are those of a single color. Combos are announced by the O Scanner with a short song made up of the syllables of a Combo's name, a quirk Ankh advises Eiji to ignore.

Kougami tells Eiji Hino that he is actually the second to be Kamen Rider OOO, with Ankh later stating that only Eiji can be the current Kamen Rider OOO as he was the one who undid the seal of the OOO Driver. Ankh later revealed that the first Kamen Rider OOO (先代仮面ライダーオーズ Sendai Kamen Raidā Ōzu) was a king in Europe 800 years ago. However, because of his desire for godhood, the power warped the first OOO's mind before he was overwhelmed by desire while using the powers of all the Core Medals at once, thus turning his body into a stone coffin which sealed the Greeed. But due to his lack of personal desire, Eiji is theorized by Kougami to be capable of making such a transition into becoming a living god.

Tatoba Combo

Tatoba Combo (タトバコンボ Tatoba Konbo) is Kamen Rider OOO's main combination, using the powers of the Taka, Tora, and Batta Medals. As Tatoba Combo, Kamen Rider OOO can see far distances, use the Tora Claw gauntlets, and can jump and kick with great strength. This Combo's Scanning Charge finisher is a Rider Kick called the Tatoba Kick (タトバキック Tatoba Kikku), where after jumping high up with the power of the Batta Legs, Kamen Rider OOO descends with a drop kick through the three rings that form, surrounding him with a different aura based on the Taka, Tora, and Batta Medals. The Tatoba Combo is lost when all the Core Medals are sucked into the black hole created by the destruction of Dr. Maki, but is recovered during the events of Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Fourze & OOO: Movie War Mega Max when Ankh steals a set of the Medals from Kamen Rider Poseidon.[3]

Gatakiriba Combo

Gatakiriba Combo (ガタキリバコンボ Gatakiriba Konbo), also known as the "Strongest Combo" (最強コンボ Saikyō Konbo), is Kamen Rider OOO's green combination, using the powers of Uva's Core Medals: Kuwagata, Kamakiri, and Batta. As Gatakiriba Combo, Kamen Rider OOO can create massive numbers of duplicates of himself called the Branch Shade (ブレンチシェイド Burenchi Sheido), shoot lightning from the Kuwagata Horns, use the Kamakiri Swords, and jump high with the Batta Legs. However, Eiji claims it is extremely difficult to revert to being just a single Kamen Rider OOO so that he can cancel the transformation. This Combo's Scanning Charge finisher is a Rider Kick called the Gatakiriba Kick (ガタキリバキック Gatakiriba Kikku), where Kamen Rider OOO and his many duplicates all jump into the air and converge on the opponent with flying sidekicks, reintegrating back to one after hitting the target.[4][5] In Kamen Rider OOO Wonderful: The Shogun and the 21 Core Medals, the Branch Shade copies are shown to have a degree of independence, as seven change out their Core Medals in order to use OOO's other Medal Combos against Gara's true dragon form. The Gatakiriba Combo is lost when all the Core Medals are sucked into the black hole created by the destruction of Dr. Maki, but is recovered during the events of Movie War Mega Max when Ankh (with the help of Eiji and Hina) steals a set of the Medals from Kamen Rider Poseidon.

Latorartar Combo

Latorartar Combo (ラトラーターコンボ Ratorātā Konbo), also known as the "Scorching Combo" (灼熱コンボ Shakunetsu Konbo), is Kamen Rider OOO's yellow combination, using the powers of Kazari's Core Medals: Lion, Tora, and Cheetah. As Latorartar Combo, Kamen Rider OOO can emit an infrared light called the Liodias (ライオディアス Raiodiasu) that is intense enough to incinerate, use the Tora Claws, and use the Cheetah Legs to run at blurring speeds and perform a rapid barrage of kicks. One of his attacks in this Combo is the Revol Spin Kick (リボルスピンキック Riboru Supin Kikku). This Combo's Scanning Charge finisher is the Gush Cross (ガッシュクロス Gasshu Kurosu), where Kamen Rider OOO projects three yellow rings in front of him before charging through them with the Cheetah Medal's speed, delivering a cross slash on the target with the Tora Claws infused with the Lion Medal's energy projection. The Lartoratar Combo is lost when all the Core Medals are sucked into the black hole created by the destruction of Dr. Maki, but is recovered during the events of Movie War Mega Max when Ankh (with the help of Eiji and Hina) steals a set of the Medals from Kamen Rider Poseidon.[4][6]

The name of this Combo has been variably written as "Latorartah" and "Latoratar"[4] in various print materials. The official TV Asahi website for the series, however, uses the name "Latorartar".

Sagohzo Combo

Sagohzo Combo (サゴーゾコンボ Sagōzo Konbo), also known as the "Gravity Combo" (重力コンボ Jūryoku Konbo), is Kamen Rider OOO's gray combination, using the powers of Gamel's Core Medals: Sai, Gorilla, and Zou. As Sagohzo Combo, Kamen Rider OOO gains superhuman strength and gravity manipulation from the medals, able to create powerful shock waves by banging his Gorilla Arms against his chest, execute strong headbutt attacks, use the Gori Bagōn, and cause minor earthquakes with the Zou Legs. Some of his attacks in this Combo are the Bagōn Pressure (バゴーンプレッシャー Bagōn Puresshā), where the Gori Bagōn gauntlets are launched from his arms, and a powerful dropping attack called the Zuō Stomp (ズオーストンプ Zuō Sutonpu). This Combo's Scanning Charge finisher is the Sagohzo Impact (サゴーゾインパクト Sagōzo Inpakuto), where Kamen Rider OOO jumps in the air and does a powerful stomp, which traps a Yummy in the ground, pulling it towards him so he can deliver a powerful double handed punch and headbutt at the same time. The Sagohzo Combo is lost when all the Core Medals are sucked into the black hole created by the destruction of Dr. Maki, but is recovered during the events of Movie War Mega Max when Ankh (with the help of Eiji and Hina) steals a set of the Medals from Kamen Rider Poseidon.[7][8]

Tajadol Combo

Tajadol Combo (タジャドルコンボ Tajadoru Konbo), also known as the "Blazing Combo" (炎のコンボ Honō no Konbo), is Kamen Rider OOO's red combination, using the powers of Ankh's Core Medals: Taka, Kujaku, and Condor, with the O Lung Circle on his chest forming the image of a phoenix. As Tajadol Combo, Kamen Rider OOO can see far distances, create energy peacock tail feathers as projectiles to throw at opponents, use the Kujaku Wings to fly, shoot streams of fire, and use the talon-like Raptor Edges of the CondorLegs. In addition, he is armed with the Taja Spiner, which can shoot fire disks. A Giga Scan can be done by replacing some of the Cell Medals in the Spiner with Core Medals, then scanning it with the O Scanner. This Combo's Scanning Charge finisher is a Rider Kick called the Prominence Drop (プロミネンスドロップ Purominensu Doroppu), where after sprouting wings from the Kujaku Arms, Kamen Rider OOO flies into the air, flips around and performs a flying drop kick on the target with the Raptor Edges extending its talons as he ignites. As this combo is a Super Combo, it is more powerful than any other Combos. The downside is that Tajadol Combo is even more taxing on Eiji's body, with him feeling the effects of physical strain much sooner and much more intensely than with other Combos. Tajadol Combo first appeared during the events of Movie War Core to finish Kamen Rider Core alongside Kamen Rider Double CycloneJokerGoldXtreme and reappeared to fight the Lion-Kurage Yummy in episode 20. The Tajadol Combo is lost when all the Core Medals are sucked into the black hole created by the destruction of Dr. Maki, but is recovered during the events of Movie War Mega Max when Ankh (with the help of Eiji and Hina) steals a set of the Medals from Kamen Rider Poseidon.[9][10]

Shauta Combo

Shauta Combo (シャウタコンボ Shauta Konbo), also known as the "Marine Combo" (海のコンボ Umi no Konbo), is Kamen Rider OOO's blue combination, using the powers of Mezool's Core Medals: Shachi, Denki Unagi, and Tako. As Shauta Combo, Kamen Rider OOO gains the ability to liquefy his body, excels in underwater combat, can spray jets of water, emit and receive sonic waves, use the Denki Unagi Whips, and the Tako Legs' tentacle-themed powers. One of his attacks in this Combo is the Voltarm Whip (ボルタームウィップ Borutāmu Wippu). This Combo's Scanning Charge finisher is a Rider Kick called the Octo Banish (オクトバニッシュ Okuto Banisshu), where Kamen Rider OOO liquefies his body and goes airborne, then uses the Denki Unagi Whips to bind and throw the opponent up, finally finishing it with his Tako Legs forming a drill to burst through the opponent. The Shauta Combo is lost when all the Core Medals are sucked into the black hole created by the destruction of Dr. Maki, but is recovered during the events of Movie War Mega Max when Ankh (with the help of Eiji and Hina) steals a set of the Medals from Kamen Rider Poseidon.[11]

Tamashiy Combo

Tamashiy Combo (タマシーコンボ Tamashī Konbo),[12] also known as the "Soul Combo" (魂のコンボ Tamashii no Konbo) and the "Monster Combo" (怪人コンボ Kaijin Konbo), is Kamen Rider OOO's special combination, that appears in the OOO, Den-O, All Riders: Let's Go Kamen Riders film, using the powers of Taka, Imagin, and Shocker Medals, the latter obtained from Momotaros and the Shocker Greeed respectively. As Tamashiy Combo, Kamen Rider OOO can see far distances, use the Orenotsuno, and the talon-like attachments of the Shocker Legs. This Combo's Scanning Charge finisher is the Tamashii Bomber (魂ボンバー Tamashii Bonbā),[12] where the Shocker symbol appears on an enemy before Kamen Rider OOO launches a ball of energy made from the Imagin Arms. At the end of the film, the Imagin and Shocker Medals dissolve.

Putotyra Combo

Putotyra Combo (プトティラコンボ Putotira Konbo), also known as the "Invincible Combo" (無敵のコンボ Muteki no Konbo), is Kamen Rider OOO's purple combination using the powers of the purple Core Medals that forced themselves into Eiji's body: Ptera, Tricera, and Tyranno. Though it is the most powerful form that Kamen Rider OOO can assume, it originally turns Eiji into a mindless beast who attacks friend and foe alike as soon as the combo is activated. He eventually manages to exert his will over the purple Core Medals, but he still suffers from the physical strain resulting from Combo use, and is still at risk of "letting himself go" if he does not consciously keep control. As a result of the purple Medals residing in his body, Eiji is undergoing a process known as "Greeedification", gradually turning into a Greeed. The Putotyra Combo has a power that is capable of destroying or damaging Core Medals. After Eiji gains two more Purple Medals, he can access this from in the usual way or straight into Putotyra while in Greeed form. As Putotyra Combo, Kamen Rider OOO can freeze opponents with a cold wind, use the wing-like External Fins on the Ptera Head to fly, use the Wind Stingers that can extend and attack the enemy from far, and is armed with the Tail Divider that can deliver a powerful blow and the Legsteranail claws for powerful kicks. In addition, he is armed with the Medagabryu. A Putotyranno Hissatsu can be done by placing Cell Medals in the Axe Mode's slot, then closing the hatch. This Combo's Scanning Charge finisher is the Blasting Freezer (ブラスティングフリーザ Burasutingu Furīzā), where Kamen Rider OOO restrains the target with the Wind Stingers, then uses the External Fins to freeze it in place, and finally shatters the frozen target with the Tail Divider. Unlike other Combos, the OOO Armor becomes white and can't mix-and-match with other Medals, due to their Medals' nature as the antithesis of desire negating the power of the other Core Medals, and it is announced by the call "Putotyrannosaurus" (プトティラノザウルス Putotiranozaurusu) rather than its name "Putotyra". However, in the toyline, the OOO Armor was purple and can do mix-and-match with the other Core Medals, and during one of the Net Movies Puudol Combo (プウドルコンボ Pūdoru Konbo) is revealed, although the events are not canon. The Putotyra Combo is lost when all the Core Medals are sucked into the black hole created by the destruction of Dr. Maki and were not shown or used in Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Fourze & OOO: Movie War Mega Max only in flashback, but the purple Core Medals is restored (which is tamed by Eiji) in Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen when Eiji loans them to Gokai Pink.[13][14] His Putotyra Combo was reappeared in Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Wizard & Fourze: Movie War Ultimatum only Director's Cut and later Kamen Rider Wizard true last episode.

Burakawani Combo

Burakawani Combo (ブラカワニコンボ Burakawani Konbo) is Kamen Rider OOO's orange combination. It uses the powers of the three reptile-themed Core Medals: Cobra, Kame, and Wani, that were last known to be in the possession of Tokugawa Yoshimune. But when Eiji and company appear in Edo due to a time distortion caused by Gara, Eiji gains the Core Medals during his battle against the Nue Yummy. Burakawani Combo's body is covered in a substance called Soma Venom (ソーマ・ヴェノム Sōma Venomu), which makes him able to heal instantly after taking any attack. As Burakawani Combo, Kamen Rider OOO's eyesight is doubled and gains infra-red vision, uses the turtle shell-like Gora Guardner, which can be put together to form an energy shield called the Gora Shielduo (ゴーラシールデュオ Gōra Shīruduo), and the Saw Deadscythers on his legs project the image of crocodile heads "biting" the opponent when Kamen Rider OOO's kicks come in contact. In addition, he is armed with the Burahngi, which lets him summon a giant cobra from the back of his head to attack enemies. This Combo's Scanning Charge finisher is a Rider Kick called the Warning Ride (ワーニングライド Wāningu Raido), where Kamen Rider OOO projects three orange rings in front of him before dashing through them in a foot-first slide, unleashing a powerful kick with the Saw Deadscythers. The Burakawani Combo is lost when the Core Medals dissolve after the defeat of Gara Dragon, but it is restored in Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Wizard & Fourze: Movie War Ultimatum when Eiji uses the restored orange Core Medals during the battle between the Kamen Riders and the Akumaizers.

Super Tatoba Combo

Super Tatoba Combo (スーパータトバコンボ Sūpā Tatoba Konbo) is the evolved form of Tatoba Combo, using the powers of the Super Taka, Super Tora, and Super Batta Medals. Super Tatoba Combo has the Super Taka Head, similar to the Taka Head Brave as Tajadol Combo, the longer and sharper Super Tora Arms, and the spiked Super Batta Legs. Because the Super Medals have "surpassed time", they give OOO the ability to temporarily stop time; Eiji uses this to fight Rem Kannagi, who also possesses future Core Medals, on an equal footing. This Combo's Scanning Charge finisher is a Rider Kick called the Super Tatoba Kick (スーパータトバキック Sūpā Tatoba Kikku), a enhanced version of the Tatoba Kick.[15][16] Super Tatoba Combo first appears in Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Fourze & OOO: Movie War Mega Max.[17] His Super Tatoba Combo form has reappeared in Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Wizard & Fourze: Movie War Ultimatum and the finale of Kamen Rider Wizard.

Random Combos

In addition to the above Combos, there are also Random Combos (ランダムコンボ Randamu Konbo) consisting of any other combination of three Core Medals. The names in bold have appeared in the television series or films. Other names are possible Combos or Combos that have been featured in various publications promoting Kamen Rider OOO.

Equipment

OOO Driver

The OOO Driver (オーズドライバー Ōzu Doraibā) is a belt that gives Eiji Hino the ability to become Kamen Rider OOO, originally the seal that kept the Greeed in their 800-year slumber. To transform into Kamen Rider OOO, Eiji inserts three Core Medals into the O Slater (オースレイター Ō Sureitā), turns the O Slater on the Force Drive (フォースドライブ Fōsu Doraibu), scans the Core Medals with the O Scanner, and then holds the O Scanner up to his chest.[48] According to Ankh, because it was Eiji who undid the seal on the OOO Driver itself, it will only work on him and no one else. However, someone else can perform the physical action of scanning Medals for Eiji as long as he is wearing the OOO Driver.

O Scanner

The O Scanner (オースキャナー Ōsukyanā) is a device that is able to read the energy found within O Medals. By using the O Scanner on a set of three Core Medals in the OOO Driver, it allows for the transformation into Kamen Rider OOO or one of his various Combos. By scanning the Core Medals in the OOO Driver, again, it initiates one of Kamen Rider OOO's finishing attacks known as Scanning Charges (スキャニングチャージ Sukyaningu Chāji). The O Scanner can also be used on the Cell Medals in the Medajaribur to initiate its Scanning Charge, designated as "Single", "Double", or "Triple", as well. The voice of the Scanner had a much deeper pitch when used by the original OOO than it does for Eiji.[49]

O Medals

The O Medals (オーメダル Ō Medaru) are mystical coins that are at the center of Kamen Rider OOO's powers. There are two different kinds of O Medals: the Core Medals and the Cell Medals.[50][51][52]

Core Medals

The golden-edged, colorful Core Medals (コアメダル Koa Medaru) are the O Medals that allow Kamen Rider OOO to transform and change between his various Combos. The five types of Core Medals were originally fifty created by the King's alchemists 800 years ago as a means to create artificial life, drawing from characteristics of different animals, forming the core of the Greeed before one Medal in each set was removed with the King using three while the other two were destroyed. Each Greeed has a specific shade of color that their Core Medals come in: Ankh's Core Medals are red, Uva's are green, Kazari's are yellow, Gamel's are gray, and Mezool's are blue. In the beginning, after stealing some from his fellow Greeed, Ankh holds many of the Core Medals and gives them to Eiji when he wants him to fight as Kamen Rider OOO. Later, Ankh gives Eiji the Taka, Tora, and Batta Medals so he can defend himself when Ankh is not around. However, seeing Eiji's first use of the Latorartar Combo as reckless, Ankh takes the Core Medals back, stating he should have never given them to Eiji in the first place.[53]

A sixth set of 10 purple-colored Core Medals is later revealed, embodiments of hollowness that destroy desire and can actually shatter the other five Core Medal types. Five of these Medals enter Eiji's body when they sense his lack of desire, allowing him to sense a Yummy while slowly turning him into a Greeed. However, the purple Core Medals are utterly destroyed alongside all Core Medals when Maki implodes and produces a black hole that sucks them and all the other Core Medals with only Ankh's broken Taka Medal remaining. A seventh set of orange-colored Core Medals is revealed in the film Kamen Rider OOO Wonderful: The Shogun and the 21 Core Medals.

There are also the King's Core Medals (王が持っていたコアメダル Ō ga Motteita Koa Medaru), set of Core Medals which were originally part of the Core Medal sets that composed Ankh, Kazari, and Uva. Being the only tenth Core Medals separated from the rest of their respective sets instead of being destroyed, the King used them to become Kamen Rider OOO eight centuries ago. Originally in Kougami's possession, Eiji used them to become the true Kamen Rider OOO before the King's Core Medals are shattered prior to the final battle after being overpowered by the purple Core Medals in Eiji's body.[54][55]

In Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Fourze & OOO: Movie War Mega Max, Kougami shows that he is in the process of developing new Core Medals after the other Core Medals were destroyed. These Medals, other than Kamen Rider Poseidon's Medals, include the Ushi (ウシ), the Shirokuma (シロクマ), the Hachi (ハチ), the Mukade (ムカデ), the Ari (アリ), the Shika (シカ), the Gazelle (ガゼル Gazeru), the Yadokari (ヤドカリ), the Penguin (ペンギン Pengin), and the Seiuchi (セイウチ).

A set of three of each Core Medals, except the completely destroyed purple Medals, are acquired from the future as a result of the events of Movie War Mega Max, allowing Eiji to become Kamen Rider OOO once again. In Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen, the purple Medals are revealed to have also been repaired as Eiji lends his Core Medals to the Gokaigers to be temporary transformed into special Ranger Keys through Gai's power.

Cell Medals

The silver Cell Medals (セルメダル Seru Medaru) also come from the Greeed, but also make up the bodies of the Yummy. These Medals are a manifestation of human desire, with a Yummy becoming denser with Cell Medals the longer it satisfies its host's desire. While the Greeed were sealed away, the Kougami Foundation studied and gathered the Cell Medals, incorporating them in their Ride Vendor, Medajaribur, and Candroid technology. Unlike Core Medals, which can be used and reused without effect, Cell Medals release only a limited amount of energy before vanishing. While the body of a Greeed is a physical amalgamation of Cell Medals, it is unclear how many Cell Medals actually make up the form, as Ankh was able to make a payment of 100 to the Kougami Foundation, far more than his apparent size would contain. Furthermore, as shown with the Greeed's harvesting of Cell Medals and then Eiji when he absorbed Kougami's entire reserve, the Cell Medals can increase one's natural abilities to near invincibility.[65]

O Medal Holder

The O Medal Holder (オーメダルホルダー Ō Medaru Horudā) is a special case designed to store O Medals, rather than merely being contained within Ankh's body. Although the O Medal Holder first appears in the Kamen Rider OOO: Nobunaga's Desire act of Movie War Core, in episode 17 of the television series it is revealed that Hina had commissioned its creation while she and Chiyoko were vacationing in Egypt. After the series finale, Hina came into possession of the O Medal Holder as she keeps Eiji's remaining Core Medals safe.

Medajaribur

The Medajaribur (メダジャリバー Medajaribā) is a sword that serves as Kamen Rider OOO's main weapon, given to him by the Kougami Foundation as a "birthday present". It can also be used to fire waves of energy to attack. By inserting three Cell Medals into the Medajaribur and scanning them with the O Scanner, it can be used to perform a slashing Triple Scanning Charge attack called the OOO Bash (オーズバッシュ Ōzu Basshu).[66] The OOO Bash appears to slice through not only the Yummy, but the fabric of reality itself, though anything other than the Yummy is restored afterwards. The name is a portmanteau of "medal" and Excalibur, the legendary sword from Arthurian myth.

Taja Spiner

The Taja Spiner (タジャスピナー Taja Supinā) is a shield-like gauntlet that can be summoned when the Kujaku Core Medal is equipped, first seen being used by Kamen Rider OOO Tajadol Combo. Powered by seven O Medals in its O Crown (オークラウン Ō Kuraun), it can be used either as a shield, to shoot powerful fireballs, or to perform a Giga Scan (ギガスキャン Giga Sukyan) by replacing the Cell Medals in the O Crown with Core Medals and then using the O Scanner, which continuously draws power from the Medals inside. Using Ankh's Core Medals in the Taja Spiner for a Giga Scan, Kamen Rider OOO can perform the Magna Blaze (マグナブレイズ Maguna Bureizu), generating a firebird-like aura around him before charging at an opponent.[67] A Giga Scan can be performed with just the Cell Medals for a non-elemental attack, although it isn't as powerful without the Core Medals. In the final battle, Kamen Rider OOO Tajadol Combo uses the seven of the Purple Core Medals in Eiji's possession at once in the Taja Spinner to defeat the Kyouryu Greeed and the Medal Vessel Chaos Form, performing the Lost Blaze (ロストブレイズ Rosuto Bureizu) creating a black hole which sucks in and breaking all the remaining Core Medals, save the broken halves of Ankh's Taka Core.

Medagabryu

The Medagabryu (メダガブリュー Medagaburyū) is Putotyra Combo's signature weapon, enabling OOO to unleash the full potential of the Core Medals. It can change between its Axe Mode (アックスモード Akkusu Mōdo) and its Bazooka Mode (バズーカモード Bazūka Mōdo). When Cell Medals are inserted in the Medagabryu, Kamen Rider OOO can perform a Putotyranno Hissatsu (プトティラノヒッサツ Putotira no Hissatsu) depending on the weapon's mode. When in Axe Mode, Kamen Rider OOO can perform the Grand Of Rage (グランド・オブ・レイジ Gurando obu Reiji) slash, which is powerful enough to damage Core Medals, or the Strain Doom (ストレインドゥーム Sutorein Dūmu) blast if the Medagabryu is in Bazooka Mode. The Medagabryu can be used with other forms, which allows it to execute ice-powered slashes. However, only Putotyra Combo is able to control its Bazooka Mode.[14][68]

Burahngi

The Burahngi (ブラーンギー Burāngī) is a pungi-like weapon that can be summoned when Kamen Rider OOO is in Burakawani Combo, using a Cobra head. When Kamen Rider OOO plays a song into the Burahngi, Kamen Rider OOO can perform the Cappello Brush (カぺロブラッシュ Kapero Burasshu) which summons a giant cobra from the back of his head.[64][69]

Ride Vendor

The Ride Vendor (ライドベンダー Raidobendā) is a modified Honda VT 750 C2B Shadow Black Spirit, mass-produced by the Kougami Foundation and provided to Kamen Rider OOO and Ankh for use whenever needed. It can transform from its Machine Vendor Mode (マシンベンダーモード Mashin Bendā Mōdo), where it acts as a vending machine which holds the Candroids, to its Machine Bike Mode (マシンバイクモード Mashin Baiku Mōdo), when a Cell Medal is inserted and touching the Multi TaS Sensor (マルチTaSセンサー Maruchi Tasu Sensā, "Touch and Scan"). This transformation allows the Ride Vendor to remain hidden in plain sight as a vending machine until needed.[70][71][72] The Ride Vendor's transformation can also be controlled remotely, but this fact is hidden from Ankh and Eiji, as Kousei Kougami wants them to be dependent on his technology so he can collect Cell Medals from Kamen Rider OOO's fights.

Toride Vendor

By combining with the Tora Candroid, the Ride Vendor can become the Toride Vendor (トライドベンダー Toraidobendā). As the Toride Vendor, its speed and power is increased and it can use claw-like attachments to release Medal shaped blasts of energy. But due to its feral nature, the Toride Vendor is only compatible with Kamen Rider OOO while he is in his Latorartar Combo, with the machine's ability to siphon the excess energy allowing OOO to use the Combo without overexerting himself, while taming the machine at the same time.[8][73]

Candroids

The Candroids (カンドロイド Kandoroido) are special support robots that are held within the Ride Vendor. After inserting a Cell Medal into the Ride Vendor in its vending machine mode, a beverage can like device is "bought" from the machine. The Candroid is transformed from its Can Mode (カンモード Kan Mōdo) into its Animal Mode (アニマルモード Animaru Mōdo) through the pull-tab on top. Normally, a large number of them are deployed from the Ride Vendor, but only one needs to be manually activated, the others simply activating on their own afterwards.

In Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbaride, Kamen Rider OOO and Ankh have access to the Furifuri Candroid (フリフリカンドロイド Furifuri Kandoroido), a teal-colored Candroid that when used grows several times in size and after it is shaken and opened, it releases a blast of energy in an attack called the Furifuri Can Hour (フリフリカンアワー Furifuri Kan Awā).
