Kadarji Rao Scindia
Kadarji Rao Scindia Bahadur (Raolji Sahib) was the Maharaja Scindia of Gwalior (r. 1763 - 1764).[1]
He was son of Sardar Tukoji Rao Scindia, and grandson of Ranoji Rao Scindia Bahadur. Jankoji Rao Scindia fought at the battle of Panipat on 14 January 1761, and was taken prisoner and executed the next day (15 January 1761). For two years the clan had their possessions as he could manage Sindhia without it to appoint a leader. Finally the maratha Peshwa appointed Kadarji on November 25, 1763.[2]
However he refused the appointment, and remained as a nominal peshwa's appointment to a new Sardar which occurred on 10 July 1764 in the person of Manaji Rao Scindia.[3]
