KPAM (860 kHz) is an AM radio station broadcasting a News/Talk format. Licensed to Troutdale, Oregon, USA, it serves the Portland metropolitan area. The station is owned by Pamplin Broadcasting-Oregon, Inc., part of the Pamplin Media Group, which also owns the Portland Tribune newspaper, as well as other publications and radio station 1550 AM KKOV. Studios and offices are on Southeast Lake Road in Portland and the transmitter is in the Parkway East neighborhood of Vancouver, Washington, across the Columbia River from Portland.

KPAM broadcasts at 50,000 watts non-directional by day, the highest power permitted by the Federal Communications Commission. But because 860 kHz is a Canadian clear channel frequency, KPAM must reduce power to 15,000 watts at night, and use a directional antenna pattern, to avoid interfering with CJBC Toronto, the Class A station on the frequency.

Programming

KPAM airs both local and nationally syndicated talk shows. Weekdays begin at 6 a.m. with First Edition, hosted by Tim Hohl and Tracy Travis. At 9 a.m., it's Terry Boyd. Consumer advocate Clark Howard, based at WSB Atlanta is heard at noon. At 3 p.m. it's Mark & David. KPAM then airs syndicated talk shows during the evening and overnight from Dave Ramsey, Michael Medved and Hugh Hewitt.

Weekends feature shows on money, health, home improvement, cars, golfing and cooking. Some paid Brokered programming airs, as well as repeats of weekday shows. KPAM carries Westwood One News at the beginning of most hours. It also gets some local news from KOIN Channel 6, the CBS TV Network affiliate station for Portland.

Sports

KPAM carries games from the Portland Winterhawks Junior ice hockey team.
