K. Sivan

Dr K Sivan is an Indian scientist with the Indian Space Research Organization. He currently serves as Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, Thiruvananthapuram.

Education

Dr K Sivan graduated from Madras Institute of Technology in Aeronautical Engineering in 1980. He took his ME in Aerospace Engineering from IISc, Bangalore in 1982 and earned his doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering from IIT, Bombay in 2006. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, the Aeronautical Society of India and the Systems Society of India.

Career

K. Sivan is a renowned Aerospace Engineer with major accomplishments in the design and development of launch vehicles for Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He began his career in ISRO at VSSC in the year 1982. He was appointed as the director of ISRO's Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre on 2 July 2014.[1] On 1 June 2015, he became the Director of VSSC.[2]
