Maqellarë (Macedonian: Макелара, Makelara or Маќелари, Makjelari) is a village and a former municipality in the Dibër County, northeastern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Dibër.[1] The population at the 2011 census was 10,662.[2]
Demographics
According to the early 20th century newspaper Debar voice, the village had 23 houses of the Bulgarian Exarchate and 25 Muslim houses.[3]
Maqellare is today inhabited by both Albanians and Macedonians.[4][5]
