Julia Louise Centenera Buencamino[1] (December 5, 1999 – July 7, 2015) was a Filipino actress who was most known for her role as Amelia "Aimee" Chua in the 2015 Philippine TV series Oh My G!.
On July 7, 2015, Julia was found dead in her bathroom in Quezon City at the age of 15.[1][2]
Personal life
Julia Buencamino was the youngest child among four children of actors Nonie Buencamino and Shamaine Centenera-Buencamino.[3]
Career
Her film career began with a small role in the 2005 film Sandalang Bahay.[4] The next year, she gained a supporting role in the film Inang Yaya.[5] It was not until many years later that she received another role, for Oh My G! at ABS-CBN in 2015.[6]
Death
Buencamino was found hanging from a nylon rope in her bathroom by her family's household help at around 8:20 pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Her brother, Gregorio, rushed her to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City. At 8:46 pm, she was declared dead on arrival.[1][2] Buencamino's father insisted that the police halt their investigations towards her death, as he was convinced that the cause of death was suicide.[2] Her remains were transferred to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine at New Manila, Quezon City.[7] On her suicide note, posted on Tumblr a few days later, Buencamino revealed that she was a panromantic demisexual at the time of her death and had selected Lee as her gender-neutral name as she also identified as gender-neutral.[8][9]
