Josh Archibald (born October 6, 1992) is a Canadian-born American ice hockey player. He is currently playing for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Archibald was selected by the Penguins in the 6th round (174th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, but grew up in Brainerd, Minnesota.
Archibald came to the University of Nebraska-Omaha after playing high school hockey with Brainerd High School in Minnesota. Archibald was a finalist for the Minnesota Mr. Hockey Award in 2011.[1]
Family
His father, Jim Archibald, played in the NHL with the Minnesota North Stars during the mid-1980s.[2]
