José Ramírez (born September 17, 1992) is a professional baseball shortstop for the Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball.

Ramírez signed with the Indians in 2009.[1] He was called up to the majors for the first time on September 1, 2013,[2] and entered that day's game in the ninth inning as a pinch-runner. He would score later on a grand slam by Mike Aviles. He became the first Major League baseball player to come from the Dominican Prospect League.[3]
