John "Johnny" Egan (1939 – 14 December 2015) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played as a left corner-back for the Offaly senior football team.[1]
Born in Doon, County Offaly, Egan first excelled at Gaelic football in his youth. He arrived on the inter-county scene when he first linked up with the Offaly minor team. He made his senior debut during the 1957–58 league. Egan went on to play a key role for over a decade and won two Leinster medals on the field of play. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions.
At club level Egan began his career with Doon before later playing with Ballycumber and Kickhams in Dublin.
Throughout his inter-county career, Egan made 35 championship appearances for Offaly. His retirement came during the conclusion of the 1970-71 league.
