John Tyrel was a politician in Queensland, Australia. He was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly.[1]
Personal
He was born in 1840 in Worcester, England to John de Poix Tyrel and Mary Christina (nee Chapman) and died in 1885 in Stanthorpe, Queensland. He was a member of the Church of England. He had a private education in London and Worcester. He moved to Queensland in 1864 and became the manager of Redland Bay Sugar Plantation. In 1872 he was an auctioneer and commercial agent in Stanthorpe. He married Elizabeth, widow of Charles Farley, on 13th November 1880, at Stanthorpe.
Community involvement
He was elected a member of The Royal Colonial Institute in 1880. [2] He was a Member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows in 1883.[3]
Politics
He was a member of the Queensland Assembly for the Electoral district of Carnarvon from 1876–1883. [1]
Death
He died in Stanthorpe, Queensland in 1885. [4]
