John Battsek is a documentary film producer.

Award-winning producer John Battsek runs the film department at Passion Pictures, which has produced a number of acclaimed films over the last decade.

Launching with Oscar- and Emmy Award-winning One Day in September in 1999,[1] Passion Pictures has since produced a slate of over thirty feature documentaries many of which have been launched at prestigious film festivals and achieved international distribution. These include In the Shadow of the Moon; Oscar nominated Restrepo; Academy Shortlisted Sergio; Grierson Award Winners The Age of Stupid and Fire in Babylon; Academy Award Shortlisted The Tillman Story; triple Emmy nominated Better this World, and James Marsh's Project Nim. Recent collaborations include 2013 BAFTA and Academy Award winning Searching for Sugar Man by director Malik Bendjelloul and Raw TV's BAFTA winning The Imposter. Battsek has been twice nominated for a PGA Award in 2010 for and in 2011 for Sergio'' and The Tillman Story respectively, and was the recipient of this years prestigious Grierson Trustees Award for Outstanding Contribution to Documentary.
