Joseph "Joe" Maggard (born December 8, 1955) is an American actor, voice artist, director, writer, and comedian, best known for playing Ronald McDonald in the McDonald's commercials and voicing Ronald in Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald from 1995 to 2007.

Career

Ronald McDonald character

Maggard was hired to play Ronald McDonald in the McDonald's commercials in 1995, replacing Jack Doepke, previously serving as an interim when Doepke was unavailable. He would then portray Ronald for a total of 12 years, the longest actor to do so. As a result, he appeared in many commercials, including voicing the character and portraying him in The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald, and in the short lived DVD series McKids Adventures. In 2007, he was replaced by Ronald's current actor Brad Lennon.
