Jo Ann Pflug (born May 2, 1940) is an American film and television actress.
Early life
Pflug graduated from Winter Park High School, Rollins College, and the University of Miami, receiving her BA in Broadcasting and her minor in American History. She had a weekly radio show called The Magic Carpet where she was the story teller, along with hosting for four years a weekly live interview talk show called Montage. Her background of interviewing led her to be the first woman to have a live weekly TV talk show in the late 1960s in Los Angeles on KHJ-TV (channel 9). Billboards in Los Angeles showed her winking, with the caption "My name is Joann Pflug, but you can call me 'Pfluggie'."
Career
Pflug's first major role was as U.S. Army nurse Lt. Maria "Dish" Schneider in the film MASH, and she also appeared in Catlow (1971) with Yul Brynner, and Where Does It Hurt? (1972) starring Peter Sellers. Other notable roles include the voice of Invisible Girl in the 1967 animated version of Fantastic Four, Lt. Katherine O'Hara in the television series spin-off of Operation Petticoat, Boss Jack's wife in Traveller (1997), and Cynthia Vaughn in 1997's Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, directed by Clint Eastwood (her last role to date).
Pflug was the co-star of the made for television movie, The Night Strangler in 1973, which was a sequel to The Night Stalker of 1972, and a precursor of the TV series Kolchak: The Night Stalker of 1974-1975. She also starred in the TV werewolf movie Scream of the Wolf (1974) alongside Peter Graves and Clint Walker. Pflug was also a frequent panelist on the television game shows Match Game from 1973–1981, a co-host with Allen Funt on the 1970s version of Candid Camera, and a regular on the TV series The Fall Guy in 1981-1982. In 1984, she was the first actress to play Taylor Chapin on the syndicated soap opera Rituals.
She also landed guest appearances on The Love Boat; The Dukes of Hazzard; Knight Rider; Love, American Style; Adam-12; Quincy, M.E. and Charlie's Angels.
Marriages
Pflug married Chuck Woolery in 1972. The couple later divorced.
